Christy Tran, President
Christy Tran is in her last year of the MBA program at Santa Clara University and have helped with the network for the past two years. She also received a Finance Bachelor in Commerce degree from Santa Clara University. Christy grew up in the South Bay but now lives and works in San Francisco at Barclays Global Investor. As president of the network this year, she's excited about helping grow the organization, leadership mentoring opportunities, and creating a friendly fun enviorment for students and alumni to network and learn from each other. During her free time, when she's not working or studying or taking the train to get to one of those two activities, she enjoys trying new recipes, new restaurants,hiking, and taking as much vacations as humanly possible.

Jill Weir, Event Coordinator

Jill is currently working in the aerospace and defense industry as a Product Manager for Tyco Electronics. She made the transition to this position halfway through her MBA. Previously Jill worked as an operations supervisor at Cargill Salt for several years. Her background is in Chemical Engineering and she is a Wisconsin native (and Packer fan of course!).

This is Jill's final year at SCU and her second year on the SCU Women In Business Executive Team. Being the Conference Chairperson last year was a successful and invaluable experience for Jill, she looks forward to the opportunity to keep the momentum going as a part of this year's team. In her spare time Jill enjoys backpack camping, photography, and skiing.

Nazgol Aashouri, Vice President

Nazgol was born in Iran and moved to the United States at the age of ten. Upon graduating high school, she attended University of California, Davis where she double-majored in International Relations and Communication. With a strong desire to utilize her degrees, Nazgol began her career at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy in Washington D.C. At the Washington Institute, she worked as a Research Analyst before leaving to the National Institute of Health to become a Marketing Coordinator. Ever the entrepreneur, Nazgol later became a Consultant for various event planning companies. She then moved to New York to work as an Events Director at Savannah Dhu and Destiny USA, the world's largest fully enclosed fossil-fuel free resort and entertainment destination. In 2006 Nazgol moved back to the Bay Area to be closer to her family. Since, she has worked at LP Glassblowing, a quartz manufacturing company, as a Sales Director. She hopes to concentrate her MBA on Management and Entrepreneurship and to focus on Negotiations when she graduates.

Bindu Jandhyala, Vice President

Bindu Jandhyala is currently a student in the Evening MBA program. She is in her second year and plans to concentrate on Finance and Marketing Management, hoping to find the balance between technical industry jargon and the fun client interaction. She graduated from UCLA in 2003 with a degree in International Development Studies (focusing on Economics) and has worked primarily in Financial Services. Her current role is Dealer Channel Communications Manager at Franklin Templeton Investments. In her free time, Bindu is involved in a tutoring/mentoring program for elementary school children and likes to read, throw dinner parties and hopes to travel more. Overall, she is interested in seeing more women in management positions and is excited to be involved with WIB. Here's to a great year of expanding your networks, building leadership skills and most importantly, having fun!

Huong Le, Vice President

Huong has been in the software industry for seven years and is currently a software engineer at Space Systems Loral. She earned her B.S. in Computer Engineering from San Jose State University and her M.S. in Software Engineering from Santa Clara University. She also works part-time for a real estate investment and property management firm. Through her involvement in WIB, Huong hopes to develop and share a better understanding of women's unique, crucial role in business. In her free time, Huong enjoys cooking, writing short stories, entertaining family and friends, and catching new movies.

Alice Liang, Vice President

Alice is currently in her final year of the Santa Clara Leavey School of Business MBA program with concentrations in Management and International Business. Prior to her enrollment in fall 2007, she spent seven and a half years in wealth management, most recently serving as an Assistant Vice President for Bank of America's Premier Banking and Investments Division. Each year, Alice enjoys giving back to the community and has served as Team Captain for the March of Dimes Foundation to help fundraise. She is also very active as a long-time member of the National Junior Achievement Program. Alice earned her B.A. in Communication from the University of California, San Diego in 2005. For leisure, she enjoys ballroom dancing, photography, traveling, and trying the newest restaurants.

Piper Stangl, Vice President

Piper was born and raised in San Diego, Ca. She moved up to the Bay area upon graduation of High School in 2000 and attended Menlo College for Undergrad. Upon completion, Piper received her Bachelors of Science in Business Management in 2004. While attending college she worked for Bank of America in the Customer Retail Division. After that, she went to Citibank to work for their Mortgage Division for approximately 2 years, and is now currently works for TriplePoint Capital, a Venture Debt/Equity firm.

Mauricio Palomar, VP Web Development

Mauricio Palomar currently works at NetLine Corp. in Los Gatos. At NetLine, Mauricio previously supported the Marketing Central product. In this area, he developed email campaigns, front and back end web development, and the management of data and databases. Earlier this year, Mauricio has transitioned into a software development role which allows him to further extends his skills. Mauricio often times finds himself motivated with process improvements as well as developing interactive web applications.

Mauricio graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies. The degree focused on the digital arts between three departments: Art Studio, Film Studies, and Music. Shortly after graduating, Mauricio then pursued a programming certificate from UC-Extension Santa Cruz. Currently he is enrolled in the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University where he is pursuing his MSIS graduate degree with an expected graduation date of 2008. During his time at Santa Clara University, Mauricio has volunteered and worked with many SCU networking groups which includes: Network Athletic Connection, Real Estate Network, Information Connexion, and Women in Business.

In his spare time, Mauricio enjoy photography, cycling, running, developing even more web sites, watching movies, and playing with his newborn baby Maya. If he ever gets lucky and finds himself with more time, he might just take up music again.
